Gratitude opens new doorways, new vistas, for Blessings. Blessings which pour into our lives like a springtime rain descending upon a dry valley. Blessings that seem to unfold at the most unusual times and in the most unique ways. Blessings which suddenly look very much like the deepest desires of our hearts.
It rains when we’re in alignment to receive Heavenly waters. Droughts occur when we’re so mentally focused upon a thirst we can’t remember what it feels like to dance freely in the rain.
Where am I today? More aptly, where am I in this moment?
Am I longing for some shower to come and wash away all my challenges because I think I need ‘something’ so significantly in this moment I can’t experience happiness without it?
Or, am I sitting in a place of simple appreciation — absolute acknowledgement — resonating the joy of what it feels like to dance without abandon barefoot in an afternoon shower on a hot July day?
The choice is always mine.
It’s true. Some days, I choose more wisely than others.
“What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it-would you be likely to give them another?
Life is the same way.
In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.”
